Business energy compliance.

Meeting requirements without the runaround
Energy compliance isn’t something most businesses get excited about. It can feel like ticking boxes, deciphering legislation, or reacting to deadlines you didn’t know were coming. But getting it right isn’t just about avoiding penalties, it’s about having a clearer picture of your energy use and making smarter decisions because of it.
Whether it’s SECR, ESOS or ESG reporting, or managing your Climate Change Levy (CCL), our role is to make it less of a hassle with our energy compliance services. We break it down, explain what’s needed, and help you get it sorted in a way that actually makes sense.
We’re not here to drown you in paperwork or fire over reports you don’t understand. We’re here to guide you through net zero energy compliance, answer questions as they come up, and give you confidence that your compliance is taken care of properly. No scrambling at the last minute.

FAQs
Your energy compliance questions answered
-
What is energy compliance, and why does it matter?
Energy compliance means meeting government requirements around how you report and manage energy use. It’s not optional if your business hits the thresholds. But beyond staying on the right side of the law, it can help you take control of your energy use and find ways to reduce emissions over time.
-
How do I know which compliance rules apply to my business?
It depends on your size, turnover and energy consumption. We help you work out which schemes you need to comply with, like SECR or ESOS, and what actions are needed.
-
What’s the difference between SECR and ESOS?
- SECR is about reporting your energy use and emissions every year.
- ESOS is a four-year cycle that involves a full audit of energy use across your operations. Many large businesses need to do both and we can help you handle each one.
-
Do I need to report on ESG?
It’s not currently a legal requirement for most UK businesses, but the pressure is growing. Larger companies are already asking suppliers for ESG data, especially when Scope 3 emissions are part of their own targets. Getting your ESG approach in place now puts you in a stronger position.
-
What are Scope 3 emissions, and why should I care?
Scope 3 emissions are indirect – things like the carbon footprint of your supply chain or how your products are used. Even if your own reporting doesn’t cover them, you might still be asked for this data by partners, funders or customers. We help you understand where you fit into the bigger picture.
-
What’s the Climate Change Levy and how can I reduce it?
CCL is a tax on the energy your business uses. Some businesses can reduce or avoid it through schemes like CCAs. We can check your eligibility and help you apply if you qualify.
-
Can you help with mandatory carbon reporting in the UK?
Yes. If your business falls under SECR, ESOS or other regulations, we support your carbon reporting so you’re covered. We also help make sense of the numbers and show where improvements could be made.
-
What happens if we don’t comply?
For mandatory schemes like SECR and ESOS, failing to comply can lead to fines and reputational damage. But the risk is bigger than that, non-compliance can also affect your ability to work with large customers or secure funding. It’s worth getting right.
