Heaton Stannington Football Club are a Semi-Professional Football club based in Newcastle upon Tyne in the North East of England, earning promotion to Division One East of the Northern Premier league in the 23-24 season.
Working with Troo and their partner HDM Energies, they have made great strides in improving their energy efficiency and sustainability by implementing a comprehensive renewable energy solution.
Energy has become a major expense for the club. They have been subjected to unpredictable energy prices and increasing energy requirements. Careful management of their energy strategy was required.
They opted for the installation of solar panels and a battery storage system all of which were installed on their premises without upfront cost.
Through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) they secured a fixed rate for their generated solar energy keeping their costs predictable for the next 17 years, the length of their agreement.
This holistic approach not only delivers immediate financial benefits but also positions Heaton Stannington FC as a leader in environmental responsibility within the community.
"Troo made the whole process incredibly easy to understand. Working with HDM Energies, they walked us through each step with clarity and patience, and the installation itself was smooth and completely stress-free. We really appreciated how supported we felt from start to finish."
The Solar for Sport initiative has enabled Heaton Stannington FC to adopt cutting-edge renewable energy technologies without the burden of upfront capital investment, ensuring long-term operational savings and a reduced carbon footprint.
With the popularity and success of Solar for Sport, we are opening up this initiative to businesses across all sectors. Our Solar for All initiative, allows businesses in various industries to identify whether Solar is right for them, and make strides in sustainability without an upfront investment.
